Hair transplant procedure involves taking healthy , loss resistant hair from donor area of your scalp & carefully transplanting into balding areas. Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) is one of the two techniques used in hair transplant surgery. It is also called strip surgery. It involves harvesting a strip of tissue containing hair follicles from donor area on backside of head. This strip is meticulously subdivided into individual hair follicular units (hair grafts) containing 1-4 hairs. These hair follicles are stored in a solution at low temperature to preserve the viability of the grafts. The donor site is closed using fine cosmetic suturing.

Maximum no of hair grafts can be obtained.
Less damage (transection ) to hair grafts.
Better suited for mega hair transplant (For requirement of >4000 grafts).
Follicular Unit Extraction is an alternative method to strip surgery. In this method scalpel, staples or sutures are not used . It is thus less invasive than strip surgery. In FUE individual follicular units arwe cherry picked with the help of specialized motorized punches. Usually units with more follicles are chosen for removal. Use of small punches of diameter 0.8 to 0.9 mm gives very tiny scars without compromising quality of grafts.

No linear scar but multiple tiny dots of scar that are not easily visible.
Ideal for early stage hair loss.
Before transplantation recipient site is administered with local anaesthesia. Following this multiple minute slits are created on the recipient area with very small needles just enough to fit hair grafts snugly. The beauty & naturality of hair transplant depends upon density, direction & angulations of the slits. This is a very important step & determines natural growth of transplanted hairs. Ideally hair grafts with 1-2 hair are placed to create a soft hairline while grafts with 3-4 hairs are placed to produce density and volume.
Final scar is different in different individuals. With use of “Tricophytic Closure” the final scar is generally invisible after hair growth in donor area.
